The minor inconveniences of infidelities
The minor inconveniences of infidelities is a collection of poetry that addresses the demise, dissolution, and destruction of relationships. While some poems feature a clear male or female persona, many of the poems are written in a way to elevate the emotions of the reader and draw them into the experience. The poetry allows for a voyeuristic view to evoke the gut-retching feeling of the unraveling of love or an opportunity to bear witness to vultures plucking away at what remains of the carcass of a long-dead partnership. The title of the book is drawn from a poem featuring a woman who is clearly weary as she realizes she needs to untangle her life from a person who has cheated on her. Paired with a provocative cover image, which the artist painted based on a song and then inspired Zwolinski’s poem “Waterfalls”, The minor inconveniences of infidelities is meant to suck you in and splay your heart, splattering emotions on walls while also delivering a cathartic and clarifying purge of the negative.
